When the magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck southern Turkey in March, a construction robotics firm holding a Concern license redirected forty units to the rubble fields within seventy hours. Search-and-rescue rubble clearing is precisely the kind of manipulation no lab ever simulated: unstable debris, improvised grips, the need to move a shattered concrete slab gently, because someone might be under it. The models drew on the corpus's masons, demolition workers, arborists, and—the licensing log shows—a single contributor in Lisbon who spends his weekends dry-stone walling.
The forty units cleared debris continuously for nineteen days. Rescue crews credit them with reaching six people.
